Actor Richard Gutierrez went to the Makati City Regional Trial Court with his family Monday afternoon to file a P25-million libel case against the entertainment website, Philippine Entertainment Portal.
The actor resorted to filing a case against the entertainment website after it failed to retract the story about the alleged gun-toting incident involving the actor as well as Michael Flores and Epy Quizon.
“Maraming artista ang nabibiktima ng ganitong klaseng false journalism at nagkataon lang na nangyari ito sa akin. Nakakalungkot na kinailangan na mangyari ito, pero I just want to get to the bottom of this and we wanna find out the truth kung sinong tao ang nasa likod nito. That’s why we’re doing this. We already gave them a second chance that’s why we are here,” the actor said.
“Gusto ko magpasalamat, siyempre, sa mga kaibigan ko, kay Bubbles, sa lahat ng mga kasama ko sa Zorro na kasama ko nang gabing ‘yon, na willing tumulong sa akin at mag-testify. Gusto ko silang pasalamatan. Siyempre, ang family ko who’s been always there for me. Of course, my fans,” the actor added.
Atty. T. Angelica Y. Santiago, the actor’s legal counsel disclosed to the public that the actor is asking for P15 million for moral damages and P10 for exemplary damages.
Eddie Gutierrez, Annabelle Rama, Ruffa Gutierrez, and Raymond Gutierrez were present to accompany Richard Gutierrez.
