Filipino Boxing Champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao won against Ricky “Hitman” Hatton by means of technical knockout in the second round of their fight for the IBO light welterweight title Saturday night (Sunday, Manila time) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
During the first round, Pacquiao has knocked Hatton down twice. While in the final seconds of the second round, Pacquiao finished Hatton with an intense left hand that left the latter lying on his back and motionless. Doctors rushed to Hatton as Pacquiao’s corner celebrated victory.
Pacquiao made history by taking titles in different weight class.
Singer Martin Nievera sang the Philippine National Anthem before the fight, which is attended by big personalities including Oscar de la Hoya, Jack Nicholson and Mariah Carey.
