BB Gandanghari
BB Gandanghari was greeted by questions from bloggers who attended the POC Presents: BB Gandanghari meet and greet event at Mag: Net Café Bonifacio High Street Saturday afternoon, March 14, 2009.
A blogger asked BB about “going under the knife,” i.e., sexual reassignment. BB then said that she’s comfortable with herself and her body.
“Katawan ko kasi ‘yong parang nagpapalakas ng loob ko. When I started to discover the lady in me, things change. Hindi ganito ang itsura ko before, honestly. … Nagbago ang physical structure ko. Ang waistline ko after 3 months suddenly become 25 [from 31]. I don’t know how, but it’s really power of the mind. Naniniwala ako na our body respond [sic] on how me think. … I am a woman regardless of what I see in my physical image,” BB Gandanghari said.
She said that she’s happy and doesn’t want to tamper with her physical being. When asked the follow up question whether she has a lovelife or none, BB just laughed in response.
“Wala pa [pero] looking forward. … I hope one day may dumating,” she added.
Bloggers were curious whether BB would still play male roles in the future. BB then clarified that she’s still open to the possibilities of playing male roles given that these roles are good. BB added that she loves playing roles and playing male roles will test her versatility as an actress.
On the other hand, BB was asked for her reactions on those negative reactions that people are saying about her.
“Much that I want to pay attention to it, I can’t. Because parang I would be very unfair doon sa mga taong who really supports me. … I’ve been to a lot of places and wala naman akong nakita kung ‘di love. I’ve been getting a lot of love alam mo ‘yon, and acceptance” BB said.
Since BB returned to the country, she has been active in the cyberspace communicating with fans and supporters through Friendster, Facebook, Twitter and Plurk.
