The past episodes of Grey’s Anatomy have been very depressing for me. Since the March 12th episode, it has been normal that I become teary-eyed after each episode (What a sissy, this Jeric!). The subplot that Izzie (Katherine Heigl) is dying because of her stage IV metastatic melanoma is just heartbreaking. I like the Izzie character despite her flaws and many issues in life. She’s lovely and she’s not just any other blond out there.

But, will she really die?

There are so many rumors that have been going around that Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight would be leaving the show. I love the Izzie and George characters! Although I enjoy the “lesbo actions” in season five (especially the Arizona and Callie “thing”), it would be very sad to see Izzie and George go.

The Grey’s Anatomy News blog reported: “Katherine Heigl has apparently stated that she’ll remain with the show if the network decides to keep her.”

I just hope that this stage IV metastatic melanoma is not Izzie’s “exit strategy.” But wait, if Izzie and George will leave the show then what would be George’s “exit strategy”?

I’m not actually excited for the upcoming “big” wedding on the show. Yes, Meredith and Derek would get married soon. Some are speculating that the two would be married during the 100th episode of the show (is it on May 7)? Oh, I think it was Shonda Rimes who said that.

So what? Save Izzie Stevens! I’m just not ready to see someone leave the show.

George dies, Seattle Grace merges with Mercy West, new people to hate (especially the one that stole George’s locker), and Izzy getting fired (along with her leaving Alex), any more and I’m going to have to stop watching the show with the characters that I love. This show used to give me good messages, now its giving me messages like life failures are very frequent, give up when the going gets tough, and only assume things, never trust. I miss the old messages! I want the old back, the certainty, the consistancy, the laughter, the characters, and the overall meaning!

I actually have the same observation, Kaitlyn. I miss the old Grey’s Anatomy but I also love the Callie and Arizon subplot. :)
