It’s time for some celebration! This might be old news, but our very own Brink Notes Entertainment Daily Podcast hosted by Jeric Peña was awarded as the Best Podcast Blog during the 2009 Philippine Blog Awards (Luzon) awarding ceremonies held last Friday, October 9, 2009 at the PETA Theater in Quezon City, Philippines.

What’s Philippine Blog Awards? Well, as the official website of the awards reads, “The Philippine Blog Awards aims to recognize notable Filipino-owned blogs in their respective niches. With topics ranging from the arts, culture, technology, and politics, Filipinos have become more abreast because of the fast growing blogging industry here and abroad.”

Actually, Brink Notes Entertainment Daily Podcast has been bringing the latest happening on the entertainment world, here and abroad, since March 16, 2009, and has released 60 episodes to date. Did you know that host Jeric Peña has been podcasting since September of 2005 and has produced five podcast shows including Jeric’s Confessions (2005), Brink Notes Podcast (2007), Pinoy Idol Podcast, (2008) and Brink Notes Entertainment Daily Podcast (2009)? This isn’t the first time that Jeric Peña has been a finalist for the Podcast Category of the Philippine Blog Awards. In fact, he was also a finalist in 2008 for his podcast Brink Notes Podcast.

What can Jeric say about his win? Jeric Peña posted on his personal blog: “I’m forever grateful to everyone who has been with me through my journey in the podcasting world. Thank you, really!”

“Thank you very much to the judges and organizers of the 2009 Philippine Blog Awards and to everyone who keeps the Philippine Blogosphere alive. Congratulations, too, to the winners of the 2009 Philippine Blog Awards,” he added.

Brink Notes Entertainment Daily was launched on March 2009.

For the first time ever, the Movie and Television Review Classification Board (MTRCB) has awarded a couple of TV shows and TV personalities for the 1st MTRCB TV Awards held at the Gateway Cinema 5 in Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City.

“Through this, we’re hoping to encourage the networks to come up with shows and programs that are not just entertaining but with values as well—that’s very important,” MTRCB Chairman Consoliza Laguardia told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview.

The awards night was attended by celebrities and famous personalities including Gloria Romero, Judy Ann Santos, Ryan Agoncillo, Charice Pempengco, Ogie Alcasid to name a few.

The winners for this year’s MTRCB TV Awards are:
