ABS-CBN’s “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo” airs on January 18

Posted on 15 Jan 2010 at 3:50pm

ABS-CBN’s newest primetime offering, “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo,” a new tale that will defy the laws of loves will finally air on January 18, 2010.

From the makers of “Tayong Dalawa” and “Iisa Pa Lamang,” “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo” sketches a different kind of attack to the usual Pinoy teleseryes as it presents an unpredictable plot, a high-caliber cast and three renowned TV directors.

After the unforgettable characters of JR, Dave, Audrey, Ramon in “Tayong Dalawa,” a formidable casting coup gives life to characters that will again etch indelible marks in the history of Philippine television: Gabby Concepcion as Steve, Kris Aquino as Celine, Albert Martinez as Frank, Jacklyn Jose as Astrud, Gina Pareño as Petulah, Maricar Reyes as Selina, Gloria Romero as Barbara, Maxene Eigenmann as Alicia, Kim Chiu as Gwen, Gerald Anderson as Robbie, and Coco Martin as Ringgo.

Under the direction of three versatile directors, Erick Salud, Trina Dayrit and Dondon Santos, “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo” is shaped by three soap opera genres namely; action, family drama, and love story, drawing a yarn on how an individual’s love for another is put to the test and how destiny can entirely re-arrange one’s life.

“When ‘Tayong Dalawa’ became a hit, we were challenged to do something na pwedeng pumantay sa naabot ng ‘Tayong Dalawa’,” Direk Trina shared. Direk Dondon added, “We were very excited to do the project.

Direk Erick, on the other hand, mentioned that aside from the mounting pressure brought by the past series of ABS-CBN which have been nationwide hits, it is the audience’s anticipation that also pushes them to make this project worth the wait.

Witness the clashing of the best and primed actors in the country in one of the grandest teleseryes this year, Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo, premiering on January 18. For more updates visit http://kungtayomagkakalayo.multiply.com and www.abs-cbn.com.

Pinoy Parazzi: Bonggang-bongga na si Kim Chiu

Pinoy Parazzi: Bonggang-bongga na si Kim Chiu

Posted on 24 Jun 2009 at 7:20pm

May ganu’n talaga?

Kaya naman Kim at Gerald, go go go lang!

Kim Chiu not yet ready to commit

Posted on 21 Apr 2009 at 7:42pm

In ABS-CBN’s “The Buzz” last Sunday, Kim Chiu admitted that her parents’ separation is one of the major reasons why she’s not yet ready to commit with anyone.

Kim Chiu said: “Ayokong masaktan muna. Siyempre lagi yan di ba, pag mag-boyfriend, mag-girlfriend laging nasasaktan?”

The actress also added that it might take some time before she gets into a serious relationship. She is also thankful to her onscreen partner Gerald Anderson for not pressuring her to jump into a relationship. Anderson has publicly admitted his feelings for the actress.

Kim Chiu turned 19 on Sunday, April 19, 2009.

In the same live interview with “The Buzz,” the actress expressed her gratitude to her family based in Cebu who is there to support her.

“Thank you dahil lagi silang nandiyan. Kapag wala akong time, tumatawag sila. Tapos pumupunta dito sa Manila tapos sinu-surprise nila ako… tsaka nagta-trabaho naman ako para sa kanila,” the teary-eyed actress said.

‘Tayong Dalawa’ receives plaque of appreciation from AFP

ABS-CBN’s hit primetime television series “Tayong Dalawa” received a plaque of appreciation from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for “promoting AFP’s good image” Thursday, April 16, 2009. Lead stars Jake Cuenca and Gerald Anderson also received separate plaques for their excellent portrayal of soldiers.

Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Alexander B. Yano conferred the plaques in an award ceremony held at the Chief of Staff Headquarters, Camp Aguinaldo.

The actors expressed their gratitude to the Armed Forces on “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon.”

“Sobrang overwhelming. ‘Di naman naming sukat akalain na talagang bibigyan kami ng award ng Army for what we do but at the end of the day, from the beginning talagang we wanted to make a good example. We took the responsibility of representing the Philippine Army.

“Sobrang overwhelming lang mabigyan ng award. Like, it’s a big thing,” Cuenca said.

“We’re just very happy, very overwhelmed with what’s happening to us. We’re just happy na ‘yong show namin “Tayong Dalawa” is a good influence to the people.

“Masaya kami sa outcome ng show not just because of our ratings but also because the military recruits went up dahil po sa show namin,” Anderson said.

There was a 300 percent increase in Philippine Military Academy requirements because of the show’s promotion.

In February 2009, the two actors donated their “Deal or No Deal” winnings to the cancer patients of the AFP Medical Center located in V. Luna Avenue, Quezon City.
