Sharon Cuneta stars as Melinda Uy, a billionaire whose life is a rags and riches story. She,as a half-Chinese half-Filipina, had been a victim of discrimination in the local Chinese community. Melinda was only in her late teens when she got married to Alfonso Uy (Christopher de Leon), the scion of the wealthy Uy clan. Heart Evangelista plays Stephanie, the prodigal daughter to Sharon. Zsa Zsa Padilla inherits the role of the antagonist Olive Uy.
