More than 88 million votes were cast to determine this year’s Top 2 finalists of American Idol. Unfortunately (or fortunately), Danny Gokey was the one who was sent home after getting the lowest number of votes Wednesday night (Thursday night Philippine time).
Danny Gokey performed “Dance Like Sister” and “You Are So Beautiful” during the performance night and earned praises from the judges.
Adam Lambert and Kris Allen were announced as the Top 2 finalists, who will battle it out on the Idol finale next week.
Alicia Keys also gave an update on Idol Gives Back just like what Carrie Underwood did the other night.
Jordin Sparks performed her new single, “Battlefield.” Katy Perry also performed her song “Waking up in Vegas.” And of course, footages from the homecoming visits of the Top 3 finalists are shown.
