Movie and Television Review Classification Board (MTRCB)

For the first time ever, the Movie and Television Review Classification Board (MTRCB) has awarded a couple of TV shows and TV personalities for the 1st MTRCB TV Awards held at the Gateway Cinema 5 in Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City.

“Through this, we’re hoping to encourage the networks to come up with shows and programs that are not just entertaining but with values as well—that’s very important,” MTRCB Chairman Consoliza Laguardia told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview.

The awards night was attended by celebrities and famous personalities including Gloria Romero, Judy Ann Santos, Ryan Agoncillo, Charice Pempengco, Ogie Alcasid to name a few.

The winners for this year’s MTRCB TV Awards are:

Sineskwela (Best Educational Show) – ABS-CBN
I Survived (Best Reality Show) – ABS-CBN
Kahit Isang Saglit (Best Teleserye) – ABS-CBN
I-Witness (Best Public Affairs Show) – GMA
Obra (Best Drama Special) – GMA
Talentadong Pinoy (Best Talent Show) -TV5
Wow Mali (Best Comedy Show) – TV5

Special Awards were given to:

Born to be Wild
Moments
May Bukas Pa

Michael V. (Best Actor)
Bea Alonzo (Best Actress)
Edu Manzano (Best Male Host)
Jessica Soho (Best Female Host)

Gloria Romero (Lifetime Achievement Award)

Edu Manzano and Jackie Aquino hosted the awards ceremony with performances from Ogie Alcasid and Charice Pempengco.
