Charice to star in “Alvin and the Chimpmunks” sequel0 comments

The World singing sensation Charice Pempengco has been in the United States for the past few weeks for the filming of her first-ever Hollywood movie. Charice has been “casted” on the second installment of “Alvin and the Chimpmunks,” which is entitled “The Squeakquel” being produced by 20th Century Fox.

Some scenes were shot at the Woodrow Wilson Classical High School in Long Beach, California. Charice is with her mother, Racquel and another companion.

The film is set to be released in the US some time in December this year and in the Philippines some time in January 2010.

Charice would be playing as herself in the said movie.

“It’s a dream come true for me,” Charice said in a phone interview.

“My mom is a big fan of the Chipmunks and that’s how I got to know the group,” she continued.

“It’s not a big role, but the fact that it’s a Hollywood movie is already a big deal for me.”

Alicia Keys’ “No One” is one the songs she performed in the said movie.

The film will feature the voices of Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler, and Jesse McCartney. – With reports from Philippine Daily Inquirer and Philippine Star
