The cast of Atlantis Productions' "SPELLING BEE"
After the successful run of “Avenue Q” and “Haispray” in Manila, Atlantis Productions is set to bring a new musical hit starting this March. “The Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” is Atlantis Productions’ first offering on it’s 10th anniversary which runs from March 20, 2009 to April 4, 2009 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati City.
The Manila run of the Tony Award winning musical will be starred by the country’s finest musical theatre performers including Joel Trinidad, Cathy Azanza, Carla Guevarra-Laforteza, Felix Rivera, Rycharde Everley, Noel Rayos, Thea Tadiar Everley, Johan dela Fuente and Pheona Baranda.
SPELLING BEE is a hilarious tale of overachievers’ angst that chronicles the experience of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime. Through the course of the competition, they learn that winning isn’t everything and that losing doesn’t necessarily make you a loser.
One thing unique about SPELLING BEE is that it features two audience volunteers and two surprise celebrity guests as on-stage spellers. This will guarantee a new set of hilarious and unexpected experience every night.
